  1. Where were you born? Parklane, Johannesburg.
  2. Who did you last text? My Poker and Whisky Whatsapp group.
  3. What do you like to do when you’re not at work? I enjoy playing squash, playing golf, gardening and drinking good whisky.
  4. If you were really tired, hungry and dirty – would you choose to eat, sleep or shower first? I would shower first, without question.
  5. What are your nicknames? Haasie and Marce.
  6. If you had a time machine, would you go back in time or visit the future? I would go back in time.
  7. If you could only hear one song for the rest of your life, what would it be? Frank Sinatra’s “Mack the Knife”.
  8. If you had to eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would eat Sushi.
  9. If you could go anywhere on holiday, where would you go? The Antarctic.
  10. Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube or roll up from the bottom? Squeeze, but when the tube is nearing empty, I roll it.

  12. What did you do to celebrate your last birthday? Coming from a big family, it’s a tradition to have a big family lunch to celebrate a birthday, which is what I did.
  13. What is your life motto? “Sine Metu!” – meaning “without fear”.
  14. What type of music do you enjoy listening to? I enjoy listening to the “Crooners”, such as Sinatra, Bing Crosby, Sammy Davis Junior and Dean Martin.
  15. Tell us something we don’t know about you? I really, really hate weeds in my garden.
  16. Would you rather be ugly and live forever or be beautiful and die within a year? Ugly and live forever; there is so much to see in this world, and a year is simply not enough time to see it all.
  17. Would you be willing to eat a bowl of grasshoppers for R30 000? How big is the bowl?
  18. If you could wake up tomorrow in the body of someone else, who would you pick and what would you do? I would love to wake up in the body of Roger Moore, playing the character of James Bond. The cars, the gadgets, the martinis, the suits, need I say more?
  19. What cheers you up? Coming home to my beautiful girlfriend, whether it is after a hard day’s work or a night out with the lads, and enjoying a wee dram in my whisky nook whilst listening to a few classic records and spending time with my two hounds…give me the simple life!
